Liverpool rocked as Al Ittihad target third player after Mohamed Salah swoop
Al Ittihad are said to be weighing up an audacious swoop for Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate as they continue to unsettle the Reds ahead of the impending summer transfer deadline. The Saudi Arabian champions remain determined to prise Mohamed Salah away from Anfield but he is not the only Liverpool player of interest to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Joe Gomez has also been the subject of enquiries in the past few days as Al Ittihad look to strengthen at centre-back.
Now reports in France suggest Konate is of interest after the Saudi club failed with a bid for Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.
Todibo has attracted admirers at Manchester United and Newcastle in recent months but the offer was not enough to agree a deal with Nice for the Frenchman.
Now attention has turned to Konate but the former RB Leipzig man is understood to be happy at Anfield where he wants to continue fighting for trophies.

Konate forms part of Liverpool’s first-choice centre-back pairing alongside captain Virgil van Dijk and Liverpool would simply have no interest in a sale.
They are already light on the ground at the back and if anything, they would like to strengthen – not weaken – their options in that department.
That’s why Gomez is also likely to remain on Merseyside even if he has slipped down the Anfield pecking order in recent seasons.
Al Ittihad have been targeting a centre-back and have also looked at Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes and PSG’s Marquinhos.

Mo Salah ‘likely to leave Liverpool’ in crushing transfer blow to Jurgen Klopp[GOSSIP]
There is still lingering uncertainty though when it comes to the future of Salah, however.
Although Klopp says there is nothing to discuss, links between Al Ittihad and the Egyptian have refused to go away.
It’s thought Salah would be open to moving to Saudi Arabia one day but at the moment he does seem more likely to remain with Liverpool.
The Saudi Arabia transfer window runs until September 20 though which has created natural concern for Liverpool boss Klopp as Premier League clubs only have until September 1 to land players.
