Liverpool publicly ‘rejected’ by Real Madrid maestro Aurelien Tchouameni
Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni appears to have publicly snubbed Liverpool by liking a tweet that clearly states he is not for sale this summer. The Frenchman is firmly admired by Jurgen Klopp and the German was interested in bringing him to Anfield last summer prior to his move to Spain from French side Monaco.
Liverpool’s drastic midfield overhaul has already seen Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita depart on free transfers with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szboszlai coming through the door.
But there could yet be further surgery required with captain Jordan Henderson the subject of talks over a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia with Al Ettifaq.
Fabinho is also a £40m target for Saudi champions Al Ittihad and crunch talks are continuing over the pair’s futures behind the scenes, meaning Klopp could be in the market for potentially two more midfielders.
While Tchouameni would certainly be of interest if he was available, it appears the Frenchman has already shot down the prospect of quitting the Bernabeu this summer.

Twitter page @RMadrid_actu posted: “Tchouameni is NOT FOR SALE. You understand? @Liverpool.”
The post was liked by the player himself which would seemingly suggest he is fully expecting to stay with Los Blancos this summer.
Despite Liverpool’s interest in the summer of 2022, the now 23-year-old made it clear to his reps he only wanted Real Madrid once he heard they were in the running for his signature.
Speaking in July last year, he said: “As soon as Real Madrid arrived on the scene, I did not hesitate. I want to leave a mark on football and the best club for this is Real Madrid. It’s the best decision for me.”

He later added: “When Madrid called, I didn’t hesitate and I talked about it with my family… I wrote to my agent and told him: ‘Do everything possible to take me there, please’.”
Liverpool remain interested in a swoop for Southampton’s Romeo Lavia but they may also require further experience if Henderson or Fabinho are to depart.
Henderson is understood to have verbally accepted a blockbuster contract offer to team back up with Gerrard at Ettifaq but the Saudi club are struggling to finance the transfer fee Liverpool desire.
The Reds want £20m for their captain or they are unlikely to sanction his exit despite Klopp allegedly approving Henderson’s exit.
Fabinho seems more likely to stay but if Liverpool are to receive a sizable bid from Al Ittihad, it could fall under consideration due to the player’s age (29).
Thiago Alcantara is already believed to have snubbed a move to Saudi Arabia as he wants to see out the final year of his deal on Merseyside.
Liverpool have also been linked with Nice starlet Khephren Thuram but they are yet to formalise their interest.
It’s believed there are also other midfield targets on their transfer shortlist whose identities are yet to have been disclosed.
