Liverpool ‘plotting double Chelsea raid’ after missing £35m deal
Liverpool are admirers of Chelsea defender Levi Colwill and could look to sign the central defender this summer if the Blues are willing to do business, according to reports. The England youth international is currently on loan at Brighton where he has formed an impressive partnership with Lewis Dunk when he has not been sidelined through injury.
Graham Potter, who brought Colwill to the Amex, is thought to be keen on welcoming the player back in west London this summer but there is interest from further afield.
According to The Liverpool Echo, the Reds are firm admirers of the 20-year-old and would be open to launching a swoop at the end of the season if there was an opportunity to do so.
However, there is growing expectation that Chelsea will in fact attempt to tie the player down to a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
Interestingly, the report also claims that Liverpool were admirers of Benoit Badiashile prior to his £35million transfer to Chelsea.

Mason Mount drops strongest hint yet he’s pursuing transfer exit [LATEST]
Many ‘within the Anfield recruitment bubble’ felt the Frenchman had potential to be a top defender but Chelsea quickly pushed ahead with a transfer in January.
Liverpool are also thought to be in contention for Evan Ndicka of Eintracht Frankfurt, who will be available on a free transfer.
Away from the centre-back position, Colwill is unlikely to be the only Chelsea player of interest when the summer transfer window opens.
That’s because Jurgen Klopp is keen on signing Mason Mount from the Blues with the England international still yet to reach an agreement over a new contract at Chelsea.

His current deal is due to expire in the summer of 2024 meaning the Blues could be forced into a sale at the end of the current campaign.
Manchester United, Newcastle and Bayern Munich are also thought to be keen on Mount.
The 24-year-old struck 11 goals and registered 10 assists in the Premier League last season under new Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel.
Now the German could look to bring his former player to the Allianz Arena after taking over from Julian Nagelsmann.
Mount is still keen to find an agreement with Chelsea but, as the club need to raise cash to comply with FFP regulations, he could be one of several casualties.
Liverpool need to decide whether they can afford to finance a deal for Jude Bellingham, who is their top midfield target.
Borussia Dortmund are expected to ask for up to £130m for the England international this summer, meaning Liverpool may have to explore alternative options.
The club have also been linked with Matheus Nunes of Wolves amongst other options.
