Liverpool plot Isak transfer and urged by club legend to sign Barcelona star
Liverpool are expected to add a number of reinforcements to their squad this summer in a bid to regain the Premier League title next season.
The Reds failed miserably in the defence of their crown last term, with Jurgen Klopp ruling them out of contention as early as February.
His side at least managed to pick up their form towards the end of the campaign and secure Champions League football for next season, meaning they can still attract world-class names to Anfield in the summer transfer window.
And with plenty of speculation doing the rounds, we're on hand with the latest transfer developments from Liverpool.
Isak identified as Firmino replacement
According to the Express, Klopp has pinpointed Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak as a potential long-term replacement for Roberto Firmino.
Isak, who has impressed in Sweden's opening two Euro 2020 fixtures, reportedly has a £60million release clause in his contract.
The 21-year-old has scored 33 goals in 89 appearances for Sociedad since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, helping them clinch the Copa del Rey in 2020.
Barnes urges Reds to sign Dembele
Liverpool hero John Barnes believes his former club should target Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele in the summer transfer window, naming him as the perfect addition to Klopp's squad alongside other rumoured target Yves Bissouma.
“[Bissouma] is more of a defensively minded midfielder, but if you look at the way Liverpool’s front three play, then you don’t necessarily need an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal, because if Liverpool had that then Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane wouldn’t have the opportunity to score as many goals and it would affect the way they play,” Barnes told BettingOdds.com.
“That’s why I believe that Bissouma would suit Liverpool and that front three perfectly. He would also be a shield in front of the back four and for me, he and Ousmane Dembele would be the perfect additions for Liverpool next season.”
Wijnaldum agent explains exit
Georginio Wijnaldum's agent has opened up on the midfielder's Liverpool departure this summer following his move to Paris St-Germain.
Wijnaldum has agreed to sign for the French club on a free transfer as he prepares to leave Anfield upon the expiry of his contract this month.
"He had a fantastic time at Liverpool," Humphry Nijman said on the Here We Go podcast. "It started when we visited the house of Mr Klopp and a plan was made that they wanted to win the championship and the Champions League, and that was achieved.

"That was fantastic for the fans in Liverpool, fantastic for the manager and fantastic for the player. The player was really happy they achieved their goals.
"His contract was expiring so he was a free agent after this season.
"Of course, an attempt was made (to keep him at Liverpool) but he made another choice."
