Liverpool ‘interested’ in Lautaro Martinez as Inter Milan name price
Liverpool are weighing up a potential move for Lautaro Martinez with Jurgen Klopp reportedly 'interested' in the Inter Milan star.
The Nerazzurri forward, 24, formed a key part of their title-winning side last campaign as Inter romped to a first Scudetto since 2010.
Martinez has carried on his spectacular form into this season with 11 goals in all competitions, which has aided the Milanese club to another title charge.
And despite firing a blank in Inter's Champions League clash against Liverpool last week, the latest reports suggest Klopp is keen on acquiring the services of the Argentine.
Italian outlet Calciomercato claims that the Nerazzurri are once again planning a summer overhaul of their frontline, after flogging Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea last August for a cool £97.5m
The report states Inter are looking to finalise a deal for Sassuolo ace Gianluca Scamacca who has 10 goals in 24 appearances this season.
Simone Inzaghi has also identified Scamacca's team-mate Davide Frattesi as a target and Martinez looks likely to be sacrificed in order to generate the required funds.
The Italian giants have slapped a €90m (£75m) price tag on the 24-year-old but it is unclear if that will prove to be a stumbling block for the Reds.
Tottenham are also keeping tabs on Martinez but the report identifies Liverpool as the current favourites to sign the Argentine.
