Liverpool are reportedly keen on Italy forward Domenico Berardi as uncertainty continues over Momahed Salah's future.
The Azzurri have won both of their first two Jurgen Klopp games 3-0 as they prepare to face Wales on Sunday – and Berardi has been one of their stars.
The 26-year-old helped set Italy on their way to victory over Turkey when his powerful cross led to Merih Demiral's own goal, while he also set up Manuel Locatelli's opener against Switzerland last week.
His impressive performances for Roberto Mancini's side have come on top of an excellent campaign for Sassuolo, which saw him score 17 goals and notch eight assists for the Serie A side while playing mainly on the right flank.
And his eye-catching form has alerted Liverpool amid concerns for Salah's long-term future at the club, according to reports from Italy.
Salah sparked transfer fears earlier this year when he spoke about Real Madrid and Barcelona, who have both been linked with moves for the Premier League.
The 29-year-old has two years left on his contract at Anfield, but there is no sign yet of the Egypt star extending his deal.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is expected to boost his attacking ranks in any case this summer after his side struggled for goals during parts of last season.
They have been linked with interest in Sweden star Alexander Isak as well as Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, as Klopp looks to provide more competition for his established front three of Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino following the arrival of Diogo Jota last term.

And they could make a move for Berardi, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, cited by The Express.
He and fellow Italy star Locatelli helped Sassuolo finish eighth in Serie A for a second successive season.
Berardi is contracted to the club until June 2024, but is their highest earner and it is thought he could be ready to take on a new challenge this summer.
Sassuolo want £43million for the forward, who has also been linked with interest from Leicester and Tottenham.
Spurs' new transfer Fabio Paratici is said to be a long-term admirer of Berardi, having seen the attacker up close during his previous job with Juventus.
And his connections in Italy could prove useful in trying to land Berardi.
