Liverpool have given non-league neighbours Marine a helping hand in their bid to pull off one of the most sensational FA Cup upsets of all time against Tottenham on Sunday.

The Northern Premier League outfit are set to lock horns with Spurs in the third round of the competition at Rossett Park, which seats a mere 389 people.

Jose Mourinho ’s stars will have to change in the Marine Travel Arena bar before kick-off in order to ensure social distancing regulations are met.

Their opponents have not been in action since Boxing Day after the Northern Premier League’s North West Division was suspended.

Marine’s training venues have also been shut due to adverse weather conditions and tougher coronavirus restrictions in the UK, but fortunately Liverpool and Everton have come to their Merseyside neighbours’ rescue.

Both Premier League clubs have offered Neil Young’s men last-minute use of their training grounds, while Liverpool have also provided them with vital scouting material on Spurs.

“We are as well-prepped as we can be from a part-time perspective,” said Young.

“I have done a lot of analysis, with the help of Liverpool.

“They have given us access to games that we can't get access to. We see a lot of the Premier League games live but unless we record them we haven't got the scouting network or the software to go back and look at games.

“They have sent us the recordings so we can do the analysis.”

Young then added: “Our pitch where we were due to train yesterday had to be covered due to the frost and then leisure centres that we would normally use to train have been closed because of lockdown.

“We are very thankful that Everton stepped in to allow us to train last-minute at their training ground and Liverpool have stepped in to allow us to train at theirs tomorrow.”

Spurs are being touted as potential Premier League title contenders this season and currently sit just four points behind leaders Liverpool with a game-in-hand, while Marine occupy sixth place in the Northern Premier League North West Division.
