Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has raised further injury concern for Jurgen Klopp after he was spotted leaving the Emirates Stadium on crutches with his knee supported by a brace. The Colombian international was a bright spark for the Reds throughout an enthralling first-half battle in north London before a innocuous clash with Thomas Partey saw him clutch his knee in pain.
Diaz had a big hand in helping Liverpool force their way back into the game after Gabriel Martinelli’s first-minute opener, assisting fellow South American Darwin Nunez for the leveller.
But his afternoon was soon cut short after he attempted to soldier on through the pain barrier before later conceding defeat following conversations with the Liverpool medical team.
Diaz had tried to continue but was still feeling some discomfort in his knee and Liverpool will now be sweating on his fitness ahead of a crucial run in prior to the mid-season breaker in November for the World Cup.
The £37.5million January signing from FC Porto was spotted hobbling past the mixed zone on crutches after the full-time whistle as Liverpool fell to a 3-2 defeat in north London.
Once he has returned to Merseyside, Diaz is expected to undergo scans on the problem to determine the full extent of the damage.
