Liverpool fans ask ‘is this a joke’ as Prem team ‘leads race for January target’
Liverpool fans have been left unhappy as Fulham emerged as the current leaders in the race to sign talented Brazilian midfielder Andre.
Despite signing Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch in the summer, Jurgen Klopp’s side appear to be in the hunt for further midfield reinforcement. But while most Liverpool fans are in love with their new heartbeat, it did not come without many disappointments along the way.
The Merseysiders were constantly linked with a move for Jude Bellingham, who went on to join Real Madrid in a deal which looks likely to exceed £115m. A few months after missing out on the prodigal Englishman, Liverpool fans are worried another highly-rated young midfielder is about to slip through their grasp.

Reports from CNN Portugal understand Fulham have emerged as the favourites to sign the Fluminese star. After these reports started doing the rounds on social media, Liverpool fans were less than pleased.
“So we gassed him for nothing,” said one fan, who was evidently hopping on the Brazilian’s hype train. “Is this a joke,” asked another furious supporter.

One of Liverpool’s South American admirers also wrote: “It’s a shame. I’m from Brazil and can comfortably say that Andre is quite good. Young, strong personality… would be a great addition to our midfield.” Another took aim at the club’s transfer team and owners by saying: “If we aren’t in a position to beat Fulham to a signing we want to make, then our club is massively poorly run.”
However, other Liverpool fans suggested they could be dodging a bullet by not signing the Brazilian. “If Fulham is leading then we don't rate him simple as,” one fan said, before a more skeptical person said: “yesterday Liverpool were leading the race. What other club is next tomorrow?”
The 22-year-old has made 54 appearances over the course of the Brazilian campaign, which is coming into the final stages of the season. Andre is a defensive midfielder who made his international debut for Brazil in a 4-2 friendly against Senegal in June.
He was then called up for their World Cup qualification clashes against Venezuela and Uruguay in the recent international break.
