Liverpool eyeing their own Bruno Fernandes to partner Mac Allister
Klopp happy to see Liverpool maintain form with Fulham win
Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on ‘the next Bruno Fernandes’ Joao Palhinha. The Fulham midfielder has made a fantastic impression since leaving Sporting Lisbon in the summer and has had comparisons drawn with the Man Utd sensation.
Palinha still has over four years left on his contract with The Cottagers and so Fulham aren’t willing to let him go cheaply. According to the Daily Mail, the Portuguese star has been valued at £60m. But that still looks to be the cheapest option for Jurgen Klopp who has also previously expressed interest in £120m man Jude Bellingham and Alexis Mac Allister valued at £70m.
The latter of which looks to be on his way to Anfield in the summer. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool have presented their project and financial proposals to the Argentine and are hoping to secure his signature early in May or June.
Meanwhile, the Reds recently cooled their interest in Bellingham due to the financial implications of the deal with Real Madrid now the frontrunners to snap him up. Liverpool have been in dire need of reinforcements in the centre of the park with their current options mostly ranging from players who are either too old or too young to hold down the position.
Klopp will be hoping he can combine Mac Allister and Palhinha in a new-look partnership next season. But there are others on his shortlist.
The Reds have also been linked with Chelsea’s Mason Mount, West Ham skipper Declan Rice and Brighton youngster Moises Caicedo. Mount is out of contract at the end of the season and looked set to depart after drawn-out negotiations with Chelsea executives.

However, it appears he may be on the verge of signing a one to two-year extension while Todd Boehly looks to negotiate something longer-term which takes into account the best interests of the player and the club.
Rice is almost certainly leaving relegation-battling West Ham in the summer as he goes in pursuit of Champions League football. Arsenal are said to be the frontrunner to get on a permanent deal although Liverpool are also monitoring his situation.
Meanwhile, Caicedo recently signed a fresh five- and half-year deal with Brighton, who turned down offers of £70m for him in January and aren’t keen on letting him go.
