Liverpool could pip rivals to £64m Erling Haaland as Mo Salah ‘makes demands’
Liverpool could pip their rivals to the £64million signing of Erling Haaland as Mohamed Salah reportedly demands the club bring him to Anfield.
The Norwegian forward is set to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer when the release clause in his contract becomes active.
Haaland has fired in 76 goals in just 75 matches since joining Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg back in January 2020, with as many as 26 clubs reportedly interested in signing him.
However, Liverpool are said to have moved ahead of their rivals for his signature, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and both Manchester clubs also chasing Haaland.
Sky Germany's Marc Behrenbeck reports that Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are currently leading the race to sign Haaland next summer.
This comes after Salah requested the club add further reinforcements to the squad as part of negotiations over his new contract.
Salah's current deal expires in 2023 and he has yet to agree new terms, reportedly due to the offered wages being lower than his demands.
A striker is said to be on the agenda for Liverpool when it comes to next summer's transfer business, with Haaland's release clause becoming active making him a key target.

It is understood that, from the end of this season, Haaland will be available for just £64million and he is expected to depart Dortmund in the summer.
Liverpool will hope that securing the signing of Haaland will help them tie Salah down to a new long-term deal.
Salah had previously said he would stay at the club for the rest of his career but has yet to finalise new terms with the club.
It was reported last month that sporting director Michael Edwards believed an agreement was close to being reached with the player's representatives.
