Liverpool can humiliate Ten Hag in transfer window final week with double deal
Liverpool may have gone fairly quiet in the transfer window since their failed move for Moises Caicedo and subsequent surprise follow-up deal for Wataru Endo, but Jurgen Klopp has his hopes set on more reinforcements.
The Merseysiders are still in desperate need of an anchor in midfield, along with a versatile central figure who can be deployed in a multitude of positions to suit Klopp’s rigourous tactical demands.
And, with a week remaining in the transfer window, Liverpool wishes could yet be granted – at the expense of bitter rivals Manchester United.
The Red Devils have made a lacklustre start to the season, whimpering to a controversial victory over Wolves before being soundly beaten by Tottenham Hotspur.
And now, with Erik ten Hag applying pressure on wantaway owners the Glazers to cough up more transfers, proposed deals for duo Sofyan Amrabat and Ryan Gravenberch may be slipping quickly away.
Amrabat and Gravenberch, of Fiorentina and Bayern Munich respectively, have been courted by United all summer but to little avail.
The progress or lack thereof is reported to be of huge frustration to Ten Hag, given that both players have been coached by him during earlier stages of his career.
The Dutch boss can vouch for the character and abilities of both stars, yet United have so far failed to clinch an agreement for either midfielder.
Now, it is understood that Liverpool are ready and willing to pounce in order to give Klopp a late burst of energy into his currently depleted midfield.

A late invasion from FSG and the Anfield transfer committee would serve huge embarassment for United, who would not only fail to secure their targets but also allow a direct and historic rival to become consderably stronger.
Reports via German outlet TZ state that Liverpool have already sent a delegation to Munich to iron out the finer details for a move Gravenberch before the window closes, while Amrabat’s camp are understood to be ready and willing to accept a switch to Anfield.
With clubs often more willing to come down on lofty asking prices as the transfer window ticks into its final days, potential cut-price coups for Liverpool would represent both great business and a hammer blow to United’s confidence.
After a turbulent summer, Klopp could be left rubbing his hands together after all. The ball is now in the court of United to ensure the unthinkable does not happen.
