Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was over the moon with his side’s thumping 4-1 win over Everton on Wednesday evening, although he had some specific instructions for Mohamed Salah at half-time. The Reds hit the ground running against Everton and could have easily been 2-0 up inside the opening few minutes.
It wasn’t long until Liverpool did find the breakthrough when Jordan Henderson finished superbly from outside the box.
The Liverpool skipper then turned provider for Salah minutes later with the Premier League’s top scorer sending his curling effort into the top corner.
For all of Liverpool’s dominance in the early exchanges, they gave Everton some hope when Demarai Gray was played through to score and halve the deficit before the break.
The home fans were buoyant as both sides trudged down the tunnel with Everton hoping of a comeback.

And they pushed for an equaliser at the start of the second half, only to be punished for a mistake from Seamus Coleman at the halfway line.
Salah pounced on the error and raced through on goal before squeezing his low-driven effort inside the post.
Liverpool then releaxed in the game with their two-goal lead restored and Diogo Jota went on to seal all three points with his eighth league strike of the campaign.
Klopp was beaming from ear to ear at full time as he hugged his players before celebrating with the away supporters.
DON’T MISS
And the Liverpool boss admitted it was the best performance he’s seen from a Liverpool side at Goodison Park since he took over.
However, the half-time chat with Liverpool leading 2-1 concentrated on both Salah and Mane being let off the leash more to expose Everton’s defensive woes.
“Later on I will enjoy watching it because I know the result, that helps it,” Klopp said.
“I had moments tonight that I enjoyed a lot. I liked what I saw and it was by far the best performance we’ve done at Goodison.
“We made a big step in our development that we can take these kind of games, even though they are really important for the opponent. We can put emotions to the side.
“What football moments we had in the first half – incredible! The positions we put on the pitch made it really difficult to get at us.
“We gave a goal away for no reason – that is how it is. The crowd were angry and we gave them life back.
“After half-time we controlled it again – we showed the boys two or three situations and the way they defended we could have sent Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah away a lot more in one-on-one situations.
“It was for sure a nine out of 10 performance from each of the boys, apart from moments.
“We shouldn’t take that for granted though. It is all about the boys. It was all over a pretty good performance.”
