The latter he later worked as a coach and had two short spells as interim manager, before leaving the Turkish giants in 2019.
He has worked as goalkeeping coach for the Brazilian national team since 2014, where he has formed a close bond with Alisson and played an instrumental role in the 29-year-old becoming one of the best goalkeepers on the planet.
It is further reported that Taffarel visited Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre last week having held initial discussions with the club over a potential role during the summer.

The Dutchman has been with the club since 2009, and has worked with the first team since 2011 under various managers.
He has a strong relationship with Jurgen Klopp and is known to be a popular individual among the senior squad and the club staff.
