Liverpool ace Van Dijk’s reaction to Salah wondergoal caught on camera
Virgil van Dijk’s reaction to Mohamed Salah’s wondergoal for Liverpool against Manchester City has been caught on camera.
Picking up the ball on the far side of the Anfield pitch, Salah slalomed his way past several City defenders before firing past Ederson and into the far corner of the net.
It was a stunning strike which put the Reds back in front having seen Phil Foden equalise following Sadio Mane’s opener, a goal that Salah created.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were though forced to settle for a point after Kevin de Bruyne saw his effort deflect off Joel Matip and past Alisson with nine minutes left of what was an instant classic.
Many pundits have hailed Salah for his wondergoal, which will be one of the leading candidates to win the goal of the month for October.
Now, Liverpool have released a four-and-a-half-minute long video showing “every angle” of Salah’s wondergoal.
While it focuses on close-ups of Salah, the video also shows wide angle shots of the stadium, which caught Van Dijk’s reaction.
The Dutchman had taken up a position on the edge of the centre circle, close to centre-back partner Matip.

As Salah breaks past Aymeric Laporte and gears up to shoot, Van Dijk stretches his arms to the side of his body.
Then, once Salah shoots, Van Dijk makes a 180 degree turn to face the famous Kop stand, with his arms still outstretched, in clear disbelief at what had just unfolded.
Most of Salah’s team-mates immediately run over to the far corner to join in with the Egyptian’s celebrations, but Van Dijk merely walks backwards still facing the Kop.
