Liverpool ace Diogo Jota names ‘special’ PL star he’d love Klopp to sign

Liverpool star Diogo Jota has said he would relish playing alongside Bernardo Silva at Anfield after revealing his desire to sign his international team-mate. The Reds winger admitted he would be keen to play alongside the Manchester City midfielder at club level after being dazzled by his ‘special’ ability, even if the chances of Jurgen Klopp striking a deal occurring are extremely slim.
Silva is recognised as one of the most talented players in the top flight, having spent six years with City since joining from AS Monaco in 2017 for £43million. Since then, the 29-year-old has won five Premier League titles and lifted the Champions League as part of their incredible treble last season.
Silva has been consistently linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium despite his integral role under Pep Guardiola, with the Portuguese turning down approaches from Saudi Arabian clubs over the summer. But it appears he would be welcome at Liverpool if he ever decided to move to Merseyside.
Asked if there was one player he could bring in from the Portugal setup, apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, Jota snubbed the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Ruben Dias to choose City’s midfield magician as his favoured new signing – praising his ‘special’ ability on the ball.

“Bernardo Silva, for me. For sure, he is probably one of the most intelligent football guys I have known,” Jota told YouTube channel That’s Football.
“The way he can hide the ball as well from the opponent is special. I think I would go for him.”
As it stands, Liverpool may not need Silva in their side after splashing out around £140m on new midfielders this summer. Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo all arrived to bolster Klopp’s midfield ranks after allowing five players to depart – including Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

Jota, who has featured in all four of Liverpool’s games this season far, believes that once their new signings have had time to settle and gel with their team-mates, they will be able to challenge the likes of City at the top end of the table.
“It’s still early days in the season, with a few new players we are still trying to find our best inside the team,” he said, when asked about Liverpool’s title challenge.
“It’s good that we can grab a few points from tough games that we have at the beginning, and hopefully we can stick to them for a long time because we know they are strong and they are not giving points away.”
Jota will face his former club Wolves as Liverpool travel to Molineux on Saturday hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the season, with only Chelsea denying them victory so far this term.
