Lioness hero Beth Mead celebrates Euros win by ordering huge McDonald’s
Beth Mead might have ended the Euro 2022 campaign as a champion and a legend but even she cannot resist a Big Mac, celebrating in style with a huge McDonald's meal.
The Arsenal forward was the star of the show at the Women's European Championship this summer after finishing the tournament as the top scorer and landing the Golden Boot. Her goals helped England claim a famous victory this summer, landing their first international trophy as a result.
After a dramatic finale at Wembley in front of nearly 90,000 people, the Lionesses emerged victorious over Germany – who had never lost a final – when Chloe Kelly scored in extra-time to hand England the trophy. Ella Toone had put the English ahead with a sensational chip before Lina Magull's excellent close-range finish saw the match go the distance.

Mead might not have got on the scoresheet on Sunday but she was undoubtedly the catalyst for England's success this year, scoring six goals on their way to victory. She was not just a goalscorer, though, laying on five assists for her teammates in the process.
It has made her one of the favourites to land this year's Sports Personality of the Year award while the celebrations at the team hotel raged on until the early hours. It led to a few ropey-looking stars in the morning as they paraded the trophy through London.

And just like anyone looking to nurse a hangover, sometimes the best solution is to go and buy as much McDonald's as possible. Even top athletes such as Mead have to succumb because there just is not anything like a double cheeseburger sometimes.
After building up quite the appetite, Mead and Arsenal teammate Leah Williamson jetted straight for the golden arches with the Lionesses captain posting a picture of her pal on Instagram holding on to two mega-size bags full of McDonald's.
“Couldn’t be more deserved could it?” the caption read, and it is hard to disagree after a phenomenal summer.
