Lionel Messi ‘has two undisclosed offers’ as Premier League transfer talked up
Lionel Messi has ‘two undisclosed offers’ on the table that have not yet been revealed and reports in Spain suggest they could be from the Premier League. The 35-year-old veteran is now set to leave Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent at the end of the season after helping the French giants secure their second successive Ligue 1 title.
While Messi’s Parisian adventure has served its purpose in the form of trophies – despite failing to win the Champions League – he is now itching to embark on a new venture.
Barcelona remain in the frame but a deal now looks highly unlikely due to a series of financial struggles the club are still experiencing.
Landing Messi is now considered to be a complex operation that requires a number of players to leave the club, something Xavi is not necessarily willing to facilitate.
Now Diario AS in Spain are reporting that Messi has two offers from ‘leading clubs in Europe’ on the table which would suggest he could yet remain in the world’s top-five leagues.
The identities of these two clubs have not been revealed however but the reports indicate they could be from the Premier League.
Messi has long been interested in a move to English football but for one reason or another, the move has failed to materialise over the course of time.
Now he is the subject of strong interest from Inter Miami and Saudi Arabia, where there is a contract offer on the table that would represent a world-record salary.
Both remain strong options but Messi is thought to still favour returning to Barcelona if that’s an avenue that can be explored.

Jorge Messi recently claimed during a brief chat with the Spanish press that a decision “has not been made yet” as the World Cup winner continues to ponder his future.
“We still have to talk about many things,” he added before declaring Messi “would love” to go back to Barca.
Intriguingly, two of Messi’s closest friends – Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets – are leaving Barcelona this summer which could carry weight.
Barcelona are set to submit a two-year financial proposal to La Liga to prove they have planned to operate with a sufficient budget that does not breach the league’s salary-cap rules.
The document is expected to lay bare whether it’s at all possible for Messi to return to the club this summer.
One of the key departures that would likely need to materialise is that of Ansu Fati, courted by Wolves and other teams from across Europe.
Yet Fati could yet remain at Barcelona as the likes of Ferran Torres also continue to attract interest from elsewhere.
There has also been talk that Robert Lewandowski is also attracting interest from Saudi Arabia, where both Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo will feature next season.
