Gary Lineker has been red-carded by a sex survey after he famously claimed football was better than making love.
The Match Of The Day star, 61, said he got a bigger thrill out of watching Leicester win the FA Cup last year – explaining the “euphoria” of seeing his heroes triumph was better than sex. But research reveals two-thirds of men don’t agree – and say they have more fun scoring with their partner.
The most popular male sex myth is that they are more passionate about sport than nookie, with 64% of men saying they would choose a roll in the hay with their partner over watching their favourite team. Jessica Leoni, a sex and relationship expert at website IllicitEncounters.com, said: “Gary Lineker reckons that football is better than sex.
“It does make you wonder whether Gary is doing it right because two-thirds of men would pick passion every time. But I guess they haven’t played up front for England.”
The most common sex myth for women is that they desire passion less than their male partner. In fact, 56% of women have a higher sex drive. The second most common male myth was that fellas think about sex every seven seconds.
And there is no scientific justification for claims that fellas with big feet or big hands also have a big penis. The second most common sex myth, according to women, is that size really matters.

Three-quarters of women (74%) said it was not a big factor, with technique more important than how large a man is.
Ms Leoni added: “Lots of myths grow up around sex that tend to stick.
“Who hasn’t eaten an oyster and mentioned that they are a well-known aphrodisiac, when there is no evidence to show they make you feel sexy?”
