Legia Warsaw star wears T-shirt depicting 1-0 Leicester win during TV interview
Legia Warsaw’s goalscorer rubbed salt into Leicester’s wounds following their Europa League win by wearing a T-shirt with the 1-0 scoreline on during post-match interviews.
Mahir Emreli scored the game’s only goal for the Polish side on Thursday night as Brendan Rodgers’ team slipped to the bottom of Group C.
It was a hugely disappointing night for the Foxes, who missed opportunities through Ayoze Perez and Jannik Vestergaard in Warsaw and were punished when Emreli fired in off the inside of the post from the edge of the box after 31 minutes.
Leicester could have gone home with a 2-0 defeat had Kasper Schmeichel not tipped Lirim Kastrati's shot onto the post and had Tomas Pekhart not side-footed wide.
With Kelechi Iheanacho unavailable due to issues with his travel documents and Jamie Vardy on the bench it was left to £22million summer signing Patson Daka to lead the line for Leicester.
Daka tried everything to try and score, attempting five of Leicester's 18 shots, but could not break his duck as Legia delighted their vociferous supporters.
Legia Warsaw’s second win put them top of Group C, above Spartak Moscow, who beat Napoli in a match featuring 12 yellow cards and two reds.
The hosts were so happy with their win that they decided to celebrate by printing T-shirts with the scoreline on.

Reporter Archie Rhind-Tutt was amused to see match-winner Emreli come out for his post-match media duties proudly sporting a T-shirt which said: “1:0, Legia Warsaw vs Leicester City, 30.09.2021.”
“This is not helping. Salt, wound, ouch,” a Leicester fan wrote underneath the post on Twitter.
Leicester were joint favourites to win the Europa League this season alongside Napoli, but both clubs have now taken just one point from their first two games.
Rodgers’ side are yet to win in the competition and have won just two of their opening six Premier League games, but the former Liverpool boss is not worried.

“It’s very open, there are four games to go,” he said. “Legia have made a good start but our aim is to qualify. We still have work to do.
“We’ve got one point from two games but there is enough time to do that. I’m disappointed with the result. We were too passive in the game in the first half. Then we had a couple of really good chances.
“We didn’t concede too much, we dominated the second half and were much more active. We had opportunities to get something from the game.
