Leeds United may look to the transfer window to improve their squad following Saturday’s heavy defeat by Manchester United.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been relatively quiet in the summer window so far and were blown away by a 5-1 scoreline at Old Trafford.
Left-back Junior Firpo is the only major new arrival, alongside a permanent deal for Jack Harrison and the additions of young goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson and midfielder Lewis Bate.
Leeds’ side against United had a familiar look from last season, but with 16 days left until the transfer deadline on August 31 they could still make further signings.
With that in mind, here are the latest rumours involving Leeds.
Bamford on Tottenham’s radar
New additions may be the priority for Leeds at the moment, but they will also have one eye on keeping what they already have.
Patrick Bamford scored 17 goals last season to cement his place as one of Leeds’ most important players and the club are keen to secure him on a new contract.
Bamford is in the final year of his current deal and the importance of keeping him has been underlined by interest from Tottenham.
According toThe Telegraph, the 27-year-old is on the radar of Spurs as they look for attacking support for Harry Kane.
Tottenham’s number one target is Dusan Vlahovic, but they are exploring other options because Fiorentina are trying to get the Serbian forward to sign a new deal.

Leeds have renewed their interest in Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez, but still face strong competition for his signature.
Corriere Dello Sport reportedin June that Leeds were ‘very close’ to signing Nandez for around £30million, with director of football Victor Orta driving the interest.
Rumours faded since then butTuttomercatowebnow claim that Leeds are ‘back strongly’ in the race, which reportedly also includes Inter Milan, Roma and Napoli.
Tottenham are also in the picture, withCentotrentunoreporting that Nuno Espirito Santo is desperate to strengthen his midfield by signing the 25-year-old Uruguay international.
Burnley to beat Leeds to Cornet
Earlier this summer, Leeds were strongly linked with a move for Lyon full-back Maxwel Cornet, with reports in France stating they had a £10.2m (€12m) bid rejected for him.
Leeds moved on and signed Barcelona’s Firpo for £12.8m instead, but rumours have persisted of the Yorkshire club’s interest, due in part to Cornet’s ability to play in several positions.
It now looks as though that chapter will be put to bed, with Burnley on the brink of signing the Ivory Coast international.
According toThe Athletic, Burnley have made an offer of around £13.5m for Cornet and have been given permission to talk to the 24-year-old about a transfer.
