Leeds fan uses credit card to eat at Liverpool game after ‘running out of forks’

A Leeds United fan was forced to use a credit card to eat their food during the Liverpool game after Anfield ran out of forks.

Wednesday's crushing 6-0 defeat away to the Reds was made even worse for one Leeds supporter trying to tuck into some food at half-time.

They were caught on camera in the away section at Anfield using a credit card to tuck into some food they had purchased from the concourse.

According to Footy Scran, who uploaded a picture of the incident to Twitter, the food stalls at Anfield had run out of forks and other cutlery.

Footy Scran also joked: “Straight for the credit card, no old membership cards or hotel room passes.”

Fans flocked to the comments on the tweet to react to seeing a fan so desperate to eat that they would sacrifice their own credit card.

One fellow Leeds supporter wrote: “F*** sake why does it have to be a Leeds fan.”

Meanwhile, another fan was particularly enraged as they commented: “That's disgusting. Lots of things they could have been given to be used as a wedgie, but to use the CC is an abomination.

"Why serve that food when you can't provide something suitable to eat it with.”

Other fans joked that the Leeds supporter should instead have used either his hands or his season ticket to eat the food.

Footy Scran have built a growing following on social media this season, with their Twitter and Instagram accounts dedicated to matchday food.

Their posts include the most overpriced, horrific and best matchday food offerings from clubs at all levels up and down the country.

Things did not go much better for the fan on the pitch, as Marcelo Bielsa's side were submitted to a six-goal mauling by hosts Liverpool.

Two penalties from Mohamed Salah, a brace from Sadio Mane and goals from defenders Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk secured a comfortable win for the Reds.
