Lavezzi earned more money in China than Daniel Craig made from Bond films
The ludicrous salary Ezequiel Lavezzi earned while playing in the Chinese Super League tripled that earned by Daniel Craig for starring in James Bond films, according to estimations.
The Argentine attacker moved to Hebei China Fortune in 2016 to see out his career after a four-year spell with Paris Saint-Germain, where he earned a staggering wage worth £798,000-per week.
The former Napoli forward announced his retirement in 2019 at 34 years old, after making 75 outings and scoring 35 goals in China.
And his spell in Asia saw him earn more than actor Craig did for his time fronting one of the biggest film franchises as 007.
The Mirror reported in 2012 that the actor also brought in £1.9 million, £4.4 million, and £10.7 million for Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), and Skyfall (2012) respectively – while according to CelebAnswers, the 53-year-old made some £18 million each for Spectre and No Time To Die, of which is his last appearance as Bond.
That brings a collective £53million Craig has made while playing Ian Fleming’s character. However, from his time in China, Lavezzi made three times that at a whopping £165million.
It works out at £2.2million per game, or £4.7million for each goal he scored in China, according to reports.

In an interview with Candis magazine, Craig spoke of his reluctance to give his inheritance away to his relatives after his death.
"Isn’t there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you’ve failed?
“I think Andrew Carnegie gave away what in today’s money would be about 11 billion dollars, which shows how rich he was because I’ll bet he kept some of it, too.”
Craig added: “I don’t want to leave great sums to the next generation. I think inheritance is quite distasteful. My philosophy is get rid of it or give it away before you go.”
