Laura Woods has launched into popularity for her social media antics just as much as her presenting skills on Sky Sports and ITV, among others, in recent years. Express Sport looks back at some of the Arsenal fan’s most memorable online replies to trolls and audacious admirers shooting their shot.
Love Islander left red-faced
After Arsenal’s 3-1 win against West Ham United in December, Woods hailed a particular member of Mikel Arteta’s squad.
“Ben White is magic,” she tweeted after the 25-year-old produced a commendable performance at right-back.
It prompted Charlie Brake, a contest on ITV2’s Love Island in 2018, to reply: “You’re magic.”
Woods found Brake sliding into her comments humorous, accompanying three crying laughter emojis with: “Thank you, Charlie.”
But the 27-year-old didn’t stop there, seeking an opportunity to ask the broadcaster out for dinner.
“I am not hungry, but thank you,” Woods brutally messaged back, entertaining her thousands of followers.

Mudryk snub comeback
Woods wasn’t happy that Arsenal had missed out on top January target Mykhaylo Mudryk, posting an unhappy GIF after David Ornstein reported the Ukrainian was Chelsea-bound.
It prompted a Blues fan, @DannCFC21, to reply: “The fact that we’re 11th and have more pull than first-place Arsenal shows the level our clubs rated at.”
However, Woods wasn’t allowed that, firing back to state that Todd Boehly’s spend-happy attitude was the real reason. “No that’s called cash. But bless you,” she said.
And after the same fan hit back, stating that it was worthy of banter after Chelsea stole a march on their London rivals, Woods put him down for good measure.
She responded: “Ohh, well, that’s cute. I’ve got some too. You’re still 11th x.”
Tottenham fan silenced
As a Gunners supporter, Woods is no stranger to being on the wrong end of banter from Tottenham Hotspur fans.
Arsenal beat Manchester United 3-2 in January to strengthen their grip on the Premier League title. In reaction, she tweeted: “Wow. Such a bloody massive win!!! Unbelievable. #arsenal”
@Danwhite86, whose profile picture suggested he was a Spurs fan replied that he couldn’t wait for Woods’ ‘fall from grace’ when Manchester City beat Arsenal to the title.
But the talkSPORT host quickly put him in his place, teasing him about Tottenham’s continued struggles under Antonio Conte: “We could have the biggest fall from grace in history, but you’ll still be Spurs…”

Holiday ‘offer’ rejection
Woods was on fire at the start of 2023, rifling one of her most interacted-with comebacks at the end of January.
She tweeted: “Hi. Where are the best beaches in Britain? Like very quiet, hidden gem-type ones.”
But while Woods was simply searching for UK holiday tips, one replier took it too far by inviting her to his garden.
“Got a kids’ sand pit in my back garden?? Does this count?? Mrs is at work most days,” the Twitter user wrote.
But Woods earned major praise for the hilarious way she hit back at the offer, writing: “That’s what she says…”
