Laura Woods blasts West Ham star Kurt Zouma for "sickening" cat abuse video

Laura Woods has called for Kurt Zouma to be prosecuted over the appalling video showing the West Ham star abusing his cat.

The TalkSPORT host hit out at the "sickening" footage on Tuesday morning's breakfast show after Zouma, 27, was filmed kicking the helpless feline across his £2 million mansion.

The two-time Premier League winner was also seen throwing shoes and slapping the cat across the face in a horrifying video that has sent social media into meltdown, condemning the actions of the Frenchman.

Now Woods has slammed Zouma for the gut-wrenching film that was uploaded to Snapchat with laughter from behind the camera.

"It's not even that you just got caught, someone has filmed you surreptitiously," she said on TalkSPORT.

"You're performing to the camera, and you think it's alright to treat a cat like that.

"I can't get my head around the fact that he knows he's being filmed, he's performing to the camera, he's doing these things to this cat – which just for me are sickening.

"What sort of a person are you where you do that, to begin with?

"And secondly what sort of a person are you where you know you're being filmed; you think it's funny to perform and then you probably know it's going to go out on social media?"

West Ham United have "unreservedly condemned" their centre-back for the circulated video and "will be dealing with the matter internally".

Though Zouma, who has expressed his 'deep sorrow' for the clip, will not be investigated by the Metropolitan Police which Woods believes sets a poor precedent.

She added: "I don't know how it's going to be dealt with now whether or not they will prosecute.

"I almost feel like I want them to because for him to be doing that and to be filmed, he's probably done it before, hasn't he?

"I dread to think what the kids watching him think is acceptable as well. I dread to think what the kids on social media then will look and think it's okay to do to their own cats in their house.

"I'm just going to boot my cat across the room cause Kurt Zouma did it, I'm going to slap my cat around the head cause anyone that has got kids knows how impressionable they are.

"That's a Premier League footballer doing that."
