Frank Lampard believes the FA Cup win over Luton can be the catalyst to revive their stuttering season.
The Blues relieved some of the pressure on their manager with a 3-1 win that booked their place in round five.
‘I always need these results – this is Chelsea. People expect it,’ Lampard said.
Frank Lampard believes that Chelsea’s victory against Luton can help to revive their season
‘They expect it in our league position. My job is to see it from the inside.
‘People will look very close at the moment but I need to see a bigger picture. ‘This was an important result because it brings a nice air of positivity to the club. We want to win more points in league. That’s where we are at.
‘It’s nice for us in the short term, the scrutiny on a club like this is normal. ‘When you’re off it slightly the only focus should only be on changing the form. We just go again.’
Lampard also leapt to the defence of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Timo Werner, who booth endured disappointing personal afternoon’s despite Chelsea’s win.

Lampard beiieves that Timo Werner will soon be successful despite his penalty miss on Sunday
Kepa’s glaring error gifted Luton a first-half lifeline while Werner missed a penalty as his difficult first season in England continued.
But Lampard added: ‘On the flip side he [Kepa] makes a really top save in the second half when it could have been 2-2.
‘It’s very easy to hone in on that mistake. I’m disappointed for Timo. Missing penalties, I know the feeling. I know he will feel despondent.
‘It’s my job and team mates job to lift him. But he’ll fine. It’s not quite dropping for him at the moment but there will be a time when he takes penalties and scoring without thinking about it.’
Meanwhile, Luton manager Nathan Jones was furious Chelsea’s first goal was allowed to stand as replays showed there were two balls on the pitch.
‘The rules have changed apparently. We asked if it was multi ball – but I have no idea. I’m baffled.
‘When a second ball comes on the pitch play stops – not today. Unless they have changed the rules?’
