Lampard ‘doesn’t like his Chelsea players’ as Fernandez anger speaks volumes
Chelsea interim boss Frank Lampard “doesn’t like his players”, it has been claimed. Gary Neville made the assessment during the 1-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday after Enzo Fernandez’s anger at his team-mates spoke volumes.
Chelsea are desperate for the end of the season. It has been a campaign to forget on and off the pitch for the Blues.
Mauricio Pochettino is set to take over in the dugout in the summer and conversations are already being held over transfer plans with the former Tottenham boss. But there are still two matches remaining for Lampard to oversee.
Chelsea visit Manchester United on Thursday before welcoming Newcastle to Stamford Bridge on Sunday. It will be somewhat of a relief for Lampard once his horror tenure comes to an end.
He has faced defeat in all but two of his matches, drawing one and winning one. Sunday was a narrow loss at the Etihad against a much-changed City side who had already clinched the title before kick-off.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard reviews the Man City game
Neville was on co-commentary duty for Sky Sports. He claimed it always seems that Lampard is giving the impression that he isn’t a fan of the players he has at his disposal.
Neville said: “Every time I look at Frank Lampard he’s got a look of a manager who doesn’t like his players. Chelsea need the end of the season, badly.”
Lampard can’t be blamed for feeling like that. Losing seven matches out of nine is going to turn any manager against his players, especially a squad with the quality of Chelsea’s.
It seems Lampard is not the only one fed up. Enzo Fernandez is a club-record signing at just under £107million.

He has found it difficult to settle into a side with so much uncertainty. The World Cup winner has been a regular since joining in January and he finally flipped on Sunday.
Early in the second half, he was shown to be visibly angry with his team-mates. Fernandez had the ball and was advancing into the final third.
However, he didn’t have a single team-mate to pass to, despite his side losing 1-0 at the time. Fernandez gestured by waving his arms in the hope of some support.
His reaction spoke volumes about the current state of Chelsea. Fernandez is undoubtedly the future of the club – he has to be at that price.
But how many of his team-mates will be with him on that journey? Only time will tell.
