Kylian Mbappe scores stunner on his birthday while brother Ethan makes PSG debut
Kylian Mbappe scored a brace on his birthday as his teenage brother made his Paris Saint-Germain debut.
Mbappe celebrated his 25th birthday in style, scoring an outrageous curled effort from outside the area which cannoned in off the crossbar. It put PSG 2-0 up, with Vitinha having scored the Ligue 1 champions’ opener in the 49th minute.
Metz got a goal of their own in the 72nd, but PSG’s all-time leading goal-scorer put the game out of sight by latching onto a birthday gift in the form of a misplaced back pass 11 minutes later. And Mbappe’s special night was capped off by him sharing the field with his 16-year-old brother Ethan.

PSG manager Luis Enrique brought on Ethan, who joined the club alongside his sibling in 2017, in the closing minutes of stoppage time. The teenager was visibly pleased when Mbappe netted his first and could not help but smile as he waited to be brought on.
The Parc des Princes cheered him on as he entered the fray to make his senior debut. And there were more celebrations between the two brothers at full-time after PSG's 12th-league win of the season.
What do you think of Ethan Mbappe's potential? Let us know in the comments section.
Being interviewed post-match by PSG veteran Presnel Kimpembe, Ethan said: “I think it was a nice birthday for my brother, I’m very happy for him as well as for myself.” The elder Mbappe chuckled at the response, before Ethan took a cheeky jibe at his fortunate second goal.
Kylian then added: “I'm very happy. It’s great for Ethan but even more for me as his big brother. I thought it was going to be a special day for me, and this match will stay in my memories for a long time.
“Ethan coming off the bench was the most important thing today. It’s a great day!”
It certainly was for Enrique, whose side are five points clear of second-placed Nice heading into Ligue 1’s winter break. He will hope he can keep the Mbappe family together in Paris beyond this season, with the PSG talisman heavily linked with a departure when his contracts ends in the summer.
