Klopp departure plan suggested as Liverpool struggles force him to concede title
Jurgen Klopp should be the only man deciding on when he wants to leave Liverpool according to Peter Crouch.
The German has endured a difficult period over the past few months with the Reds struggling for form.
Their last loss at Leicester saw them fall 13 points behind leaders Manchester City with Klopp conceding their title defence was over.
It led to speculation that he and the Reds would part company, but those rumours look to have been put to bed.
Klopp has also had to deal with the tragic death of his mother in recent weeks.
Crouch has been quick to reference the success Liverpool have enjoyed under the 53-year-old's leadership.
And the former Reds forward believes Klopp will not walk away just because the going has got tough and it should be him who decides when to call it a day.
He told the Daily Mail : "Whenever the time comes for Klopp to move on, it should be left for him to decide – nobody else.
"Look at his achievements: Liverpool have contested finals, won the biggest prizes, seen players of great potential become world-class superstars under his guidance.
"True, the title defence hasn't gone to plan but let's not forget that Liverpool were top of the table on Christmas Day and they are dealing with a remarkable injury list.
"This decline isn't terminal. History shows Klopp isn't someone who walks away in difficult moments. Why would he do it now?"
Klopp has spent over five years in charge of the Merseyside outfit and guided them to European and domestic glory.
He held the top job at Borussia Dortmund for seven years before deciding to cut ties.
Liverpool fans underlined their support for their manager by hanging a banner outside of Anfield on Sunday morning that read: "Jurgen Klopp YNWA".
