Klopp admits Liverpool must ‘reinvent’ themselves and rivals can’t stop laughing
Jurgen Klopp admitted that he has big changes to make at Liverpool quickly while also stating that their next opponent Wolves must be laughing at the mess.
It comes after a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Napoli in the Champions League, a competition the Reds hope to win this season. But on Wednesday's evidence, it would be lucky if they made it out of the group after a disastrous performance at the back.
Three goals in the first 45 minutes from Piotr Zielinski, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Giovanni Simeone put the game to bed. That was before Zielinski doubled his lead just seconds into the second-half.

And Klopp has revealed that he has some soul-searching to do, admitting it might be time to reinvent the side. Liverpool face Wolves next and the German manager also stated that they must be looking forward to the clash.
"We played bad in the first half but usually we don't concede three goals," said Klopp. "With Alisson in goal, you have to be really bad for that to happen. It looks like we have to reinvent ourselves. There is a lot of things lacking.
Will Liverpool win a trophy this season? Comment below
"We have Wolves on Saturday and they cannot stop laughing probably. They would say – and I would too – it is the perfect moment to play them [Liverpool]. We have to set up better in pretty much everything.
"In football there are always solutions. We don't play good enough, that is obvious and that is why we lose games. There is a job to do, my responsibility and I need time to think about it."
It has not been the best start for Liverpool this year in the Premier League either, winning just two of their six games. A loss to Manchester United and draws to Fulham and Everton have left them seventh in the table – though there is time to turn it around.
But the manner of their performances has been alarming and ex-Red Devils defender Rio Ferdinand believes there needs to be big changes soon after Klopp's strong statement. "The cutting comment is ' we have to reinvent ourselves' – that is a big statement to make," he said.
"There are players there he is going to grill. You can't have players where you question their desire. His success is built on commitment and he is not getting that with the way the team is playing right now.
"There are not many times where you can say Liverpool lacked desire and fight and [here] they lacked all those things. Too many of their big stars are nowhere near the levels we are used to."
