Keys tells Chelsea to bring Jose Mourinho back and give Terry new job
Richard Keys is adamant Jose Mourinho is the man to steady the ship at Chelsea as he backed the sensational re-appointment of The Special One. The beIN SPORTS presenter is renowned for his controversial footballing opinions but in this instance, he is totally confident that Mourinho and his former Chelsea captain John Terry are the perfect double act for the current vacancy at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho still has one year remaining on his contract at Roma but with his side flying high in third in Serie A – the legendary Portuguese boss is expected to be the subject of interest this summer.
Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be sniffing around while Mourinho has also received interest from the Middle East.
Yet Keys wants to see Chelsea take a gamble on their former favourite Mourinho, who he believes is worthy of a third crack of the whip.
“My choice would be Jose Mourinho with John Terry as his assistant,” Keys said when quizzed on who should become the next Chelsea manager.

“Chelsea fans would buy into that and I think Mourinho would have the strength to sort it all out. He’s still the Special One.
“Look at what he’s doing at Roma – they’re third in Serie A and they’ve already won a trophy and are on course to win another one this season.”
Mourinho is yet to commit his future to Roma beyond this season and should any offers arrive, it’s thought they will fall under serious consideration.
The Special One has long dreamed of a return to Chelsea but unfortunately, his stints with rivals Manchester United and Tottenham are likely to tarnish his chances of returning to west London.

Still, Mourinho has already made it clear that he would be open to the opportunity during an interview with Sky Sports last year in which he named Chelsea “my Chelsea”.
He said: “If you ask me, do I have somebody that I would love to take over from ‘my Chelsea’, let’s say that.”
Mourinho later added when discussing Todd Boehly’s projected takeover: “I just know the club has reached such a level that it doesn’t matter who it’s with, Chelsea will always be Chelsea. Chelsea will always be.
“My house will always be 200 metres from the stadium and I want to keep listening to the sound of happiness and success and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be like that.”
Unfortunately for Mourinho, it appears that other candidates are in the frame to replace caretaker boss Frank Lampard at the end of the season.
Chelsea have now met with Julian Nagelsmann in Germany to discuss the prospect of the German taking over in the summer.
Mauricio Pochettino is also thought to have been contacted about the position.
Luis Enrique, who has already spoken to Chelsea, is thought to have fallen down the pecking order, however.
Other candidates including Mourinho also remain in the frame with Chelsea seemingly in no rush to find their next manager despite their turbulent form.
