Kane 'would prefer to join one of the Manchester clubs this summer'
Harry Kane ‘wants to join Manchester United or City this summer’, despite Tottenham refusing to sell to Premier League rivals… as PSG enter the fight to sign him as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe if he quits for Real Madrid
- Harry Kane will reportedly ask to leave Tottenham if they fail to finish in top four
- The Independent claim Kane would prefer to join one of the Manchester clubs
- But PSG will reportedly enter the race if Kylian Mbappe is sold this summer
- Daniel Levy will reportedly demand £150m to even consider selling the player
Harry Kane would prefer to stay in the Premier League and join one of Manchester City or Manchester United if he leaves Tottenham this summer, but PSG have also emerged as serious contenders for the striker, according to reports.
Kane’s future is shrouded in uncertainty after reports emerged that he will look to leave Spurs if they fail to qualify for next year’s Champions League, having become frustrated with the club’s lack of silverware.
The Independent now claim the England captain wants to stay in the country despite Tottenham being reluctant to sell to a top-flight rival, but add French champions PSG will also join the race for the 27-year-old striker if Kylian Mbappe joins Real Madrid.

The report claims Pep Guardiola’s men would prefer a striker under the age of 24, hence their reported pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland, while the extent of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United’s interest will depend on player sales.
It is therefore Ligue 1 champions PSG who remain in the driving seat, with Kane maintaining an excellent relationship with current boss Mauricio Pochettino despite the Argentine’s departure from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019.
PSG are also understood to be one of the few clubs who could afford the figure in the region of £150million that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would reportedly demand to even consider selling the player.

Kane is said to have maintained an excellent relationship with former boss Mauricio Pochettino
Levy is unwilling to sell his star player this summer but is particularly reluctant to let Kane leave for a Premier League rival.
The French champions could therefore be handed an advantage, particularly if Mbappe, 22, does not agree to extend his current deal at the Parc des Princes this summer.
The PSG star will enter the final 12 months of his current contract in June, but Pochettino confirmed at the weekend talks are underway between the club and the player’s representatives to reach an agreement on an extension.
Real Madrid have however been linked with a move for the World Cup winner, with boss Zinedine Zidane said to be a long-term admirer of his compatriot.
England captain Kane meanwhile signed his last contract at Spurs back in the summer of 2018, putting pen to paper on a new six-year deal worth up to £200,000 until 2024.
City would also reportedly prefer a young striker like Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland
And former Tottenham player and manager Glenn Hoddle insists only the player will decide where his future lies next season, even if Spurs chairman Daniel Levy slaps a not-for-sale sign on his talisman.
‘I think he is the one who will make that decision and Spurs will have to get the best deal they can. But it would be a crushing blow,’ Hoddle said.
‘Losing a quality player like Kane would be a setback to any club.
‘I think it is Harry Kane’s decision at the end of the day, to put his foot down and say he wants to go somewhere else and win trophies.’

Kane however does have the opportunity to win the first major trophy of his career when Spurs face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on April 25.
But it is their failure in other competitions which is causing Kane to consider his future, with the club embarrassingly dumped out of the Europa League by Dinamo Zagreb.
Jose Mourinho’s side were also knocked out of the FA Cup in a nine-goal thriller at Everton, and currently sit six points behind fourth-place West Ham in the race to qualify for the Champions League.
Kane has scored 29 across all competitions and provided 16 assists, and currently tops the charts in the race for the Golden Boot.
