Kamil Glik says "nothing happened" in Kyle Walker scrap as FA set to investigate
Poland defender Kamil Glik has insisted nothing happened between himself and England full-back Kyle Walker in Wednesday's World Cup qualifier.
The pair clashed during the match in Warsaw when the former Torino and Monaco man appeared to pinch Walker on the chin before half-time.
Glik's antics didn't go down well with the away side, and tempers flared as the teams made their way down the tunnel at a buoyant PGE Narodowy.
Referee Daniel Siebert took hold of the situation and showed both Glik and Harry Maguire yellow cards for their part in the episode.
Now the 33-year-old has come out and given his view of the altercation, which Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate said his team were "gathering evidence" of.
Speaking to Polish outlet TVP following the coming together, Glik said: "It was an ordinary field jostling. It all started with a free-kick for us.
"There was a fight for position, a scuffle. I tried to shake Walker's hand, but he wouldn't take it," he revealed. "It was a verbal scuffle nothing else happened."
Southgate, who was not impressed with the amount of fouls Paulo Sousa's side were allowed to get away with without punishment, told BBC Radio 5 Live: "We’re getting to grips with what that was.

"There’s been a report put in and we need to find out a little bit more about what’s happened. At the moment we’re still gathering all the evidence so there’s no point in me speculating any further."
In his press conference, the unhappy Three Lions boss added: "We’re trying to find out exactly what happened and when we know more then we will let people know."
Despite condemnation from England fans online, in his homeland Glik was praised for his performance which helped Poland secure a valuable 1-1 draw.
The Benevento ace was subbed in the 80th minute due to a knee injury, but he was back on the field 10 minutes later, joining in the celebrations after Damian Szymanski scored a 92nd-minute equaliser to cancel out Harry Kane's opener.
England remain top of Group I and have a four-point cushion to Albania, who beat San Marino 5-0 to move above Poland and into second.
