Juventus ‘fell in love’ with Bruno Fernandes – but Man Utd have no need to worry
Before Bruno Fernandes was tearing up the Premier League every weekend and being nominated for the Balon D'Or, he was a standout player in the Italian top-flight – Serie A.
The 26-year-old left his native Portugal, when he was only 18, to link up with Serie B side Novara and their youth academy, where he only lasted a month before being promoted to the first team.
Fernandes spent five years in Italy, before he moved back to Portugal, and during that time, he had spells with Novara, Udinese, and Sampdoria.
However, according to Calciomercato, Juventus was almost added to that list.
During his time at Udinese, Juventus tracked the Portuguese star, and their Chief Football Officer, Fabio Paratici, had 'fallen in love', according to the report.
Even Juventus couldn't have imagined his meteoric rise; since joining Manchester United, last January, Fernandes has registered 38 goals and 24 assists in all competitions.
And it's a mistake The Old Lady are still rueing.
Juventus see a potential move for Fernandes, now, as almost impossible; the main factor being United's £120million valuation of their star.
Calciomercato, also claim that Juventus weren't the only side interested in Fernandes, and AC Milan twice attempted to lure him to the San Siro.
Firstly in 2015, when Fernandes was at Udinese, and secondly, in 2019, when he was at Sporting Lisbon.
However, Fernandes remains settled in Manchester, where he has been wholeheartedly welcomed by the United faithful.
