Juventus face injury scare after Chiesa forced to leave training early

Juventus face injury scare after winger ‘Federico Chiesa was forced to leave training early’, as the Italy star seems set for another setback in his return from an ACL rupture

  • Frederico Chiesa has scarcely played since picking up an ACL rupture in January
  • The Juventus star appeared just three times for the club before the World Cup
  • He could now face another spell on the sidelines after leaving training early
  • Chiesa is believed to have stayed down for ‘a few minutes’ after a strong tackle

Juventus appear to be facing another setback after Frederico Chiesa was forced to leave training early.

The Italy winger suffered an ACL rupture in January and had begun to return to first team football in the final few club games before the World Cup.

He may now have aggravated the injury, with Football Italia reporting Chiesa collapsed after a tackle during training and needed ‘a few minutes’ to recover.

Frederico Chiesa was forced to leave training early after a strong challenge from a teammate

The Juventus winger suffered an ACL rupture in January and only began his return last month

They claim the winger did briefly continue, but headed inside shortly afterwards after a ‘painful challenge.’

The news will come as a serious blow to Massimiliano Allegri’s side, who have failed to hit the heights many expected of them this season.

Juventus sit a respectable third in Serie A after 15 games, but are already ten points behind leaders Napoli, with the lack of goals a particular issue for the Old Lady.

It may be a blow for Massimiliano Allegri’s side, who have struggled to score goals this season

Despite a rock-solid defence that has let just seven goals in, the best in the league by a distance, they have scored 24: the lowest figure in the top five and 13 less then Napoli.

Chiesa’s return would have been a serious boost for the club after he bagged 14 goals in his only full season there, but this latest injury scare will be concerning for fans.

Juventus are next in action when they take on Cremonese, who sit in the relegation zone and are yet to win a game this season, on Wednesday, January 4.
