Jurgen Klopp warned Tottenham clash is ‘make or break’ for him at Liverpool
Tottenham v Liverpool: Premier League preview
Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are in a “make or break” position heading into tonight’s match against Tottenham, claims Bundesliga expert and former Sheffield United striker Jan Aage Fjortoft. Defending champions Liverpool are seven points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City having played the same amount of games as Pep Guardiola’s side.
Liverpool have not won any of their last five league matches and have not scored in their last four.
Tottenham can leapfrog the Reds with victory in north London and move up to fourth in the table to strengthen their own title hopes.
Fjortoft has known Klopp for many years after following his time managing in Germany.
And the Norwegian believes tonight’s match could be key in the 53-year-old’s future at Anfield.

“I think what is interesting for Liverpool at the moment is we’re all just waiting for them to put together three, four, five, six games,” Fjortoft told ESPN FC.
“I followed Jurgen Klopp for many, many years when I worked with him in Germany.
“Klopp always has a 90 per cent very, very charming [personality], and then he has 10 per cent poco loco [a little crazy].
“Some ways he has managed to hide that here in England, yeah we remember him losing his hat or his glasses and doing all kinds of stuff pitchside, but I think this is like a make or break position now for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.

“Because if they start losing, if they get more and more points behind Manchester City, it’s quite interesting how things will develop, even at Liverpool, even at a strong structure that Liverpool have got at the moment.
“So I think [Thursday] is a key game and I think Liverpool can take this because this is a make or break game for them.”
Ahead of the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Klopp insisted his team would continue to fight as hard as they can to win the title for a second successive season.
“We will give our absolute everything this season,” Klopp said.
“It’s not about defending the title or whatever, it’s about winning football games – it was always about this.
“This defending or attacking the title, that’s more something you have to say because you ask me.
“This club and this team has the potential to fight for the title.
“We will see if we can make that happen, if we can get close again this year. If not, we will try next year.”
