Jurgen Klopp planning mass Liverpool transfer overhaul with six stars facing axe
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly planning an overhaul of his squad in the summer and could see six first-team stars depart.
The Reds are reigning Premier League champions, though their defence is not going to plan.
Liverpool are currently ten points behind leaders Manchester City having struggled with injuries, especially in their back-line.
Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are unlikely to play again this season with Klopp having been busy to secure new signings in January.
And the boss could use the summer transfer window to overhaul his squad, according to reports.
The Sun claim Xherdan Shaqiri could depart despite getting more chances off the bench in recent weeks.
The Athletic add that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also fighting for his future having made just two Premier League starts in the current campaign.
Georginio Wijnaldum is out of contract in the summer and could depart with Barcelona interested in the Dutch midfielder.
Goalkeeper Adrian has lost his spot as No. 2 to Alisson to Caoimhim Kelleher and the ex-West Ham man could leave Liverpool.
Divock Origi may also be on the way out having scored just once in 16 appearances this season.
And Naby Keita could also leave, according to The Athletic, with the midfielder struggling since joining the Reds.
He has found life tough due to injuries, though has fallen down Klopp’s pecking order following the arrival of Thiago Alcantara.
On Keita, Klopp recently said: "It’s not a big thing; it’s a little bit like with other players in the past when they came back from injuries and then because of the amount of games and situation in the squad they had to play.

“Then a little injury happened again. Now we just had to put on the brake and say ‘let’s settle it properly’.
"In the moment we have alternatives in midfield, so we really try to give him all the time he needs to get 100 per cent fit.”
