Liverpool have reportedly identified Jarrod Bowen as a potential transfer target this summer. Ibrahima Konate remains the only new signing at Anfield, but there appears to be a push for recruitment to bring in at least one forward-minded player this summer.

Mohamed Salah was once again the main source of goals for Liverpool last season with the Egyptian scoring 31 times in all competitions.

Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota also chipped in with 16 and 13 goals respectively, but there was little else from others in the team.

Roberto Firmino struggled in front of goal and came under increased criticism as Liverpool’s league form dipped.

But there was even more disappointment from the fringe players on the squad who were brought in to try and add different options to Liverpool’s attack.

Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri both failed to find the net in the league while Takumi Minamino was loaned out to Southampton for the second half of the campaign.

Reports have suggested that Liverpool need to sell before they can buy and the departures of Marko Grujic and Taiwo Awoniyi have brought a return of £17million.

More are expected to follow out the door, but it appears as though Liverpool are putting plans in place to revitalise their attack.

According to The Athletic, West Ham’s Bowen is among several targets Liverpool are looking at this summer.

DON’T MISS

The report claims that Klopp is a huge admirer of Bowen and the club believe he has ‘massive potential’.

No approach is said to have been made yet as Liverpool continue to monitor their options.

But it is reported that any move to bring in another forward will depend on the futures of Origi and Shaqiri.

Both players have been made available to leave if Liverpool’s valuation for them is met.

Shaqiri impressed at Euro 2020 with Switzerland and has attracted interest from Lazio, with Liverpool reportedly hoping to get £13m in return.

Origi featured in Liverpool first pre-season friendlies of the summer on Tuesday.

Klopp’s side faced Wacker Innsbruck and Stuttgart in back-to-back 30 minute matches with two different teams playing in each game.

Origi scored from the penalty spot in the opening game against Wacker Innsbruck, which finished 1-1.
