Jurgen Klopp and FSG in agreement over recent collapse of Liverpool project

Jurgen Klopp can sleep easier knowing he has the full support of Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group despite the team’s shocking slump.

There is no threat of the German boss suffering the sack at Anfield any time soon.

FSG fully believe Klopp is the right man to lead them out of the current collapse.

Liverpool have been plagued by serious injuries to key men in the team off the back of their title-winning campaign.

The constant setbacks have caught up with Klopp’s side in 2021 especially, resulting in six successive Anfield defeats – a club record.

Following Sunday’s shock 1-0 loss to relegation-threatened Fulham, though, there appears to be no disharmony between the manager and the owners behind the scenes.

Klopp is convinced Liverpool will bounce back next term once the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Jordan Henderson are back fully fit.

The Daily Mail report FSG agree with Klopp’s outlook, having earned their trust with his huge success at Anfield over the past two years.

The owners accept how the remarkable sequence of events with injuries have been pivotal to Liverpool’s season imploding.

Crucially for Klopp, his relationship with FSG president Mike Gordan, who oversees day-to-day business at Liverpool, is as strong as ever.

The Merseysiders are down in eighth with 10 Premier League games left to play, meaning they are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League.

But they are still in this season’s competition, and a spot in the quarter-finals is more or less assured following their 2-0 away win in their round-of-16 first-leg tie against RB Leipzig.
