Julia Roberts is ‘true’ Man Utd fan and says she is ‘possessed’ by the club
Julia Roberts said she is a ‘true’ Manchester United fan and told how she and her family became ‘possessed’ by the club.
Pretty Woman star Roberts is one of United’s most well-known international supporters having visited Old Trafford in the past and she was recently present during the club’s pre-season tour in the US last summer.
The Hollywood A-lister was among the crowd when Erik ten Hag’s side beat Arsenal 2-0 at the MetLife Stadium in New York, even meeting the Dutchman and Marcus Rashford after the game.

After the Arsenal win, Roberts told the club’s media channel how she started supporting the Red Devils, she said: “We’re so excited. They’re such a part of our family’s history as avid sports lovers and now the kids are all grown up, they were tiny when we first met everybody, so it will be great to see some people that we know and to meet some of the new players.”
Roberts has now backed up her support for United, speaking on the Graham Norton show, she called herself a ‘true fan’ and told how her three children are also supporters of the Old Trafford giants, saying: “I've been to Old Trafford, I'm a true fan. I have three children and when they were really little and started playing soccer and started watching it on TV.

“And I didn't even realise how exciting it was to watch it on television. We just got so into it and somehow Manchester United just became our team, the Moder family team. And we became sort of possessed.”
Roberts previously broke the heart of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola after the Spaniard revealed her as one of his three idols during a bizarre rant when she went to watch United instead of his City team.
He previously said after City beat RB Leipzig in the Champions League round of 16 last season: “I am a failure in the Champions League. If I win the Champions League three times in a row I will be a failure.
"I have three idols in my life. Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Julia Roberts. These are my three idols. Julia Roberts years ago came to Manchester – not in the 90s when Sir Alex Ferguson was winning titles and titles and titles.
"She came in the period where we were better than United, in these four or five years, right? And she went to visit Man United. She didn't come to see us. That's why even if I win the Champions League it will not compare for the fact that Julia Roberts came to Manchester and didn't come to see us. Even if I win the Champions League it will not compare to this disappointment I had."
