Jude Bellingham only made his debut for Birmingham two-and-a-half years ago, with his meteoric rise taking him to Euro 2020 with England and consistent first-team football at an elite European club in Borussia Dortmund. However, a move to an elite club is unlikely this summer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Bellingham joined the German outfit in July 2020 for a fee of an initial £25million, making him the most expensive 17-year-old player ever.
Having broken multiple records at the Signal Iduna Park, such as becoming the club’s youngest ever goalscorer and the youngest Englishman to start a Champions League match, his exploits earned him England call-ups.
Indeed he has excelled on the international stage for England, featuring sporadically at Euro 2020 as Gareth Southgate’s men endured heartbreak in the final.
And his performances in the Bundesliga have alerted the attention of England’s biggest clubs – although Romano insists the midfielder is not looking for a move just yet.
“I think for Bellingham it will be super difficult for anyone to sign him in summer 2022,” Romano told Anfield Watch.
“If Erling Haaland leaves Dortmund in 2022, I don’t see Dortmund letting Bellingham leave as well.
“I’m told that he’s not desperate to leave. He’s a very smart guy, super professional.

“He’s happy with Dortmund, he’s always playing.
“He knows that moving to England could also be a lot of pressure for him as he is one of the biggest talents in English football and one of the biggest talents in the world.
“And so this is why at the moment, the boy’s absolutely happy with Borussia Dortmund and I think it’s going to be difficult to see him leaving the club.
“Liverpool are keeping tabs on him but so are the Spanish clubs, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.”
Dortmund currently sit second in the Bundesliga, nine points behind Bayern Munich and just six ahead of fifth-placed Hoffenheim.
Marco Rose’s men crashed out of the Champions League with an underwhelming third-placed finish in a group they were expected to excel in.
And their campaign could still end with European glory as they look to enter the Europa League knockout stages.
Rangers await them in mid-February in a newly-introduced playoff round, the winner of which progresses to the last 16.
