Jose Mourinho’s three-man transfer shortlist to replace Hugo Lloris

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is looking towards the current England squad as he eyes a potential Hugo Lloris replacement, according to replacement.

Lloris has made over 300 appearances for Spurs and was named captain at the start of 2015/16 season.

However, in recent seasons, his performances have taken a dip, with question marks appearing over his long-term future.

The 34-year-old will have just 12 months left on his contract at the end of the season and his explosive Dinamo Zagreb rant has raised more doubts about whether he will stay in north London.

Following their shock Europa League exit last week, Lloris labelled his side a ‘disgrace’ and said the ‘team is a reflection of what’s going on in the club at the moment’.

Mourinho then opted to shun his keeper’s comments this weekend, claiming he was ‘too mature’ to even watch the interview.

The World Cup winner has been linked with a potential reunion with Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain and the Sun report that plans are already in motion for a direct replacement.

It is suggested that Spurs have the three keepers currently in Gareth Southgate’s England squad high on their list of targets.

That includes Manchester United ’s Dean Henderson, who was heavily linked with Spurs before his return to Old Trafford last summer.

Henderson had started the season as the definite second-choice behind David de Gea, but has recently replaced him in the starting line-up.

However, there are fears that even if United were willing to sell the 24-year-old, it’s unlikely they would do so to a top-six rival.

Former United keeper Sam Johnstone is also believed to be an option, with him enjoying an excellent season, despite West Brom’s lowly league position.

And finally, Burnley keeper Nick Pope, who has long been recognised as one of the Premier League ’s best is reportedly a target for Mourinho’s men.

Pope is likely to start for England in this months World Cup Qualifiers having established himself as the back-up to Jordan Pickford on the international stage.
