Jose Mourinho continued his ongoing battle with Juventus by taunting the club’s supporters during Roma’s defeat on Sunday. Mourinho’s side lost 1-0 in Turin thanks to Moise Kean’s early header, but the result did not stop the former Manchester United manager from reminding the Juve fans of his past glories.
It was a feisty game in Serie A which could have ended differently had Roma midfielder Jordan Vertout not seen his penalty saved by Wojciech Szczesny in the second half.
Roma were desperate to find an equaliser in the closing stages and were disappointed when referee Daniele Orsato only awarded three minutes of additional time.
Mourinho was then seen on the touchline with three fingers in the air to complain about the decision.
The Portuguese boss then kept his fingers in the position for longer than was really necessary, deliberately showing them to the Juventus fans in the Curva Sud stand.
It was a reaction to the home supporters, who had repeatedly abused him all night and a clear reference to the treble Mourinho won with previous club Inter Milan in 2009/10.

It was not the first time Mourinho had used the gesture to mock Juventus, either: he used the same tactic when his Manchester United side played Juventus at Old Trafford back in October 2018.
United lost 1-0 in the Champions League group stages that night, but it didn’t stop Mourinho from showing off about the Serie A title, Coppa Italia and Champions League trophies he won eight years previously with Inter.
“Obviously, Juventus fans are not in love with me,” Mourinho explained after the United game.
“The hardest moment for them was when we won the Treble. But with players, technical staff and management, there is total respect.”

Mourinho enjoyed the return leg that season, posing with his hand to his ear after United picked up a surprise 2-1 win in Turin in November 2018.
Despite the antipathy, there appeared to be no problem between the two clubs on Sunday night, with Juventus boss Max Allegri sharing a high-five with Mourinho after the final whistle.
The win was Juve’s fourth in succession in Serie A, but they remain seventh, a point adrift of Roma in fourth place.
Mourinho gave an upbeat assessment of Roma’s performance, while also referring to his previous successes against Juventus.

“Giving three minutes of stoppages, that shows intention,” he told DAZN.
“The penalty incident, I don’t want to comment on. I don’t have all the information at hand, I haven’t seen the replays. I want to isolate myself from that incident and concentrate on everything my team did.
“All the words we heard from Juventus in the tunnel and the locker room, I hope they say it in public too. They know how much they struggled against us.
“I won here many years ago without playing so well, today we lost when playing very well and showing we are going in the right direction.”
