Jorginho scores own goal from 40 yards as Arsenal fans beg ‘send him to Lazio’
Arsenal fans are urging the club to sell Jorginho after the midfielder netted a truly bizarre 'own goal' during their pre-season clash with German second division side Nurnberg.
After taking the lead through Bukayo Saka in the first half, the Gunners were pegged back just after the hour mark when goalkeeper Karl Hein fed an ambitious ball into Jorginho's feet while standing precariously outside the box.
The pass wasn't particularly accurate and Jorginho found himself scrambling to reach it ahead of onrushing Nurnberg midfielder Kanji Okunuki. It isn't clear precisely who made contact but the ball ricocheted back towards goal and trickled into an empty net.
The goal was given to Okunuki, but Arsenal fans were nonetheless furious with the part Jorginho played in it, with some even demanding he be sold amid recent interest from Serie A side Lazio, who are currently managed by Maurizio Sarri, who managed the Italian ace at both Chelsea and Napoli.

"Send him to Lazio NOW," one supporter fumed on Twitter. Another added: "Pre-season or not that's just awful, get rid of Jorginho ASAP."
"And some people want him to start over Partey? Give me a break," a third fan wrote, while a fourth said: "And that's the last I want to see Jorginho in an Arsenal shirt this season. Send him to Saudi ffs he's s***."
Others, however, turned their fury on Hein, suggesting the youngster's pass was what put Arsenal in the muck. "Playing out from the back costing us more goals," one fan commented, while another said: "Not Jorginho's fault that, keeper's pass was awful."

"Bad pass in Heinsight," another joked.
Jorginho joined Arsenal from Chelsea in a £12m deal back in January, but despite scoring a stunning injury-time winner against Aston Villa (that later went down as an Emiliano Martinez own goal) in February the 31-year-old struggled to make much of an impact on the team.
He started just nine times in the league and looks set to fall further down the pecking order with the imminent £105m arrival of Declan Rice. As mentioned previously, Lazio has been mooted as a possible destination for him this summer, as has Saudi Arabia, though Granit Xhaka's move to Bayer Leverkusen means there's good chance he'll be part of Mikel Arteta's plans next season, in spite of today's calamity.
