Simon Jordan believes a lack of goals from Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling contributed to Graham Potter’s departure from Chelsea.
Chelsea sacked Potter on Sunday, with the club languishing in eleventh place in the Premier League.
A lack of options up front has been a huge problem for Chelsea at times, and Jordan is adamant that Havertz and Sterling should have made greater contributions, saying that Chelsea’s failure to sign a striker isn’t an excuse for their struggles.
Chelsea have scored just 29 goals in the Premier League this season, which is way short of Arsenal and Manchester City’s tallies of 70 and 71 respectively.
Havertz, who has been used up front on some occasions, has scored seven league goals this season, while Sterling has got four.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan said: ‘It’s unfathomable [Chelsea haven’t signed a striker], isn’t it? For all of us sitting across this table, for the whole football fraternity, it’s almost beggar’s belief.
‘But it doesn’t excuse the fact that Man City didn’t have a centre-forward and they scored hatfuls of goals last year. So why can’t Havertz score some more goals?
‘Why can’t Sterling chip in with some more goals when he’s fit? Why can’t the players that are perfectly capable of scoring goals in this side, score some goals?’.

Chelsea can call upon Joao Felix, but he only has two league goals in eight games since joining on loan from Atletico Madrid.
In Potter’s final game in charge at home to Aston Villa on Saturday Chelsea were unable to find the net as they suffered a 2-0 defeat.
Bruno Saltor, who has been placed in temporary charge, faces a challenge to get Chelsea scoring again, with their next game seeing them host Liverpool on Tuesday.
Chelsea have spent more than £600million on new signings since Todd Boehly’s purchase of the club, but they are still clearly in need of a new centre-forward.
Signing a striker will surely have to be a priority for Chelsea in the summer transfer window, but as Jordan alludes to, it is concerning that other players haven’t stepped up in front of goal.
Beyond Havertz and Sterling, Mason Mount is Chelsea’s next highest scorer in the league this season with three goals.
