John Terry sends transfer message to Chelsea star Zouma amid Tottenham interest

Chelsea legend John Terry has sent a message to current Blues star Kurt Zouma amid talk of a move to Tottenham this summer.

Zouma is on the periphery of Thomas Tuchel's first team squad, so could be cashed in on while his stock is still high.

The Frenchman made 22 starts in the Premier League last season, though a bulk of those came during Frank Lampard's reign.

Talk of an exit for Zouma has been rife this summer, with West Ham also linked with the player.

However, despite a reasonable price tag of £26m, the Hammers were put off by Zouma's wage demands of over £100,000-a-week, the Evening Standard claim.

That appears to have left the door open for Tottenham steal a march on Zouma, with Nuno Espirito Santo planning a shake up of his defence.

Sky Sports reported the news in an Instagram post, which was seen by Terry.

And the former Chelsea defender, who boasts almost 6m followers on Instagram, urged him not to make the move in the comments.

"Don't do it @kurtzouma," Terry wrote, along with an eyes emoji.

Terry left his role as Dean Smith's assistant at Aston Villa at the end of last season after three years in the West Midlands.

But it appears he has absolutely no plans to leave the game, and is targeting a role as a manager in the near future.

“My immediate plan is to spend some quality time with my family and, thereafter, hopefully take up some invitations to visit clubs and managers around Europe to develop my aim and objective of becoming a manager," he said.

“It has always been my ambition to move into football management and, providing the right opportunity presents itself, I feel ready to take up such a challenge.”
