Chelsea look set to cash in on Kurt Zouma in the summer transfer window, but Blues legend John Terry doesn’t want to see the defender move across London to Tottenham. Reports emerged on Tuesday that Spurs had entered the race to sign Zouma from Stamford Bridge.

West Ham had seemingly been leading the race for the Frenchman’s signature.

But they’ve so far been put off by Chelsea’s £25million asking price and the Hammers aren’t willing to meet Zouma’s wage demands.

That has opened the door for Tottenham to swoop in, with Nuno Espirito Santo seemingly keen to bolster his defensive options further.

Zouma has dropped down the pecking order at Chelsea since Thomas Tuchel arrived at the club.

Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger appear to be the preferred choices under the German head coach.

But Trevoh Chalobah has now seemingly moved ahead of Zouma as the fourth-choice option.

The 22-year-old enjoyed arguably the best week of his young career when he featured for the Blues in the Super Cup win over Villarreal before marking his Premier League debut with a wonder-strike in the 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

DON’T MISS

With Chalobah likely to be selected ahead of Zouma going forward, the 26-year-old may have to look elsewhere for regular minutes.

Sky Sports News claim that Spurs are interested in offering Zouma a way out.

But Chelsea icon Terry wouldn’t be happy with his former team-mate if Zouma did move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Commenting on Sky Sport’s Instagram post on Tottenham’s reported interest in Zouma, Terry made his feelings on the potential move clear.

“Don’t do it @kurtzouma,” Terry wrote, along with an eyes emoji.

Terry has more time on his hands this summer having stepped down as Aston Villa assistant last month.

The 40-year-old admitted at the time that he was hoping to make his first foray into first-team management in the near future.

“My immediate plan is to spend some quality time with my family and, thereafter, hopefully take up some invitations to visit clubs and managers around Europe to develop my aim and objective of becoming a manager,” he said.

“It has always been my ambition to move into football management and, providing the right opportunity presents itself, I feel ready to take up such a challenge.”
