Joe Cole has said that clubs should be ready to pay big for PSV star Cody Gakpo, as the Holland forward continues to impress at the World Cup.
The 23-year-old carried on his incredible streak of scoring in each of Holland’s opening three World Cup games when he slotted home the opener against Qatar.
Cole has been impressed with what he has seen from Gakpo and believes clubs will be swooping in to buy the young forward.

Speaking after Holland beat Qatar, Cole said: ‘I know there have been scouts watching him, he has come to the tournament and he is fearless.
‘Great movement for the goal and fantastic finishing. He is going to be on everyone’s wish list.’
Gakpo scored his third goal of the tournament following a free-flowing Holland move before he smashed a right-footed finish past the Qatar goalkeeper.
Cole was asked by former Holland player Nigel de Jong if he would spend £80 million on Gakpo – to which Cole said he would.
The former Chelsea player said: ‘Because he’s young, we know there is value in youth, if he doesn’t quite work out you are going to cut your losses elsewhere but he looks like the real deal.’

Cole continued: ‘I know it’s Qatar, I know it’s not one of the strongest nations but against Ecuador he scored, against Senegal he scored, he affects the game and players who affect the game, that is where the value is.’
‘I really like him, I have liked what I have seen at PSV and I am pretty sure there will be some offers on the door at PSV in January.’
