The Portugal striker moved to Stamford Bridge in January on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 23-year-old is Atletico’s record signing, having joined the Spaniards in a £131m deal from Benfica in 2019.
However, he fell out with Diego Simeone over his tactics and a lack of playing time, which saw him push for a move in January.
Chelsea agreed to pay Atletico a fee of around £12m to sign Felix on loan for six months and the Portuguese has enjoyed his time in west London.
Despite scoring just twice, his performance level has increased significantly since leaving the Spanish capital.
Felix’s adaptation to the English game has been so impressive that he’s attracted interest from elsewhere in the Premier League, with Manchester United said to be keeping tabs on his situation.
But AS say Felix is comfortable at Stamford Bridge and is hopeful that Chelsea will sign him on a permanent basis.
It’s claimed talks are planned between Chelsea and Atletico in the coming weeks but the Spaniards are hopeful that Felix will star in the Blues’ Champions League run, which will boost his value.
Chelsea will not pay anywhere near the £131m Atletico paid four years ago but the Spaniards will push hard to recoup as much as they can.
The Blues have spent £600m in the last nine months and must be wary of complying by Financial Fair Play rules.
That will see the club look to offload the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy.
