Jamie Carragher was told to behave by commentator Martin Tyler after the former Liverpool star’s joke about Manchester United and referees during Fulham’s match with Wolves.

The Premier League fixture was overseen by referee Michael Oliver, with Sky Sports commentator Tyler noting his support of Newcastle United during the match.

Tyler suggested Oliver could be in attendance as Newcastle face Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final.

The commentator noted how Oliver cannot referee the Magpies matches due to supporting the club.

Co-commentator Carragher quickly seized on the comment to joke about referees potential affection for Manchester United.

‘Obviously you can’t referee the club you support, so it must’ve been hard for them to find someone for the Carabao Cup final with Manchester United involved,’ Carragher joked. 

Tyler responded telling the former Liverpool defender to ‘behave’ following the remark.

The light-hearted exchange came during Fulham’s 1-1 draw with Wolves at Craven Cottage.

Wolves took a first half lead through Pablo Sarabia, with the hosts responding in the second half through Manor Solomon’s driven effort.

The match opened the weekend’s matches, which will be headlined with the Carabao Cup final.

Manchester United and Newcastle will meet at Wembley on Sunday to decide the first domestic silverware of the season.
